Bleak statistics on the marital rate amongst African American women portray this fact. There are thousands of beautiful, accomplished Black women, yet they remain single and often dateless. why are Black women so often portrayed as no more than brash gold diggers, booty shaking hoochies, and "baby daddy" welfare queens, and most recently, the face of HIV/AIDS? Really, who or what is behind the denigration of Black women in the media, minds of society and the hearts of Black men? A very controversial topic!
